Task 9 - Review

Differences
blogs and wiki's are radically different and their uses reflect that. a blog is a set of updates, informing people about the blogger's sometimes completely arbitrary subject matter of the day. a wiki is a web of pages all focusing on their own subject matter while helpfully linking around to easily navigate between information to provide context or any number of other reasons

which is better for a library?
I think hands down that the blog is the better method of keeping library users up to date with the happenings within a library. it allows for new posts to be made for whenever they are needed, being able to insert images and video easy as pie and usefully sorted chronologically and categorized into months.

blog use within a library
as stated above it is excellent for providing updates, whether they be lists of new books, video packages for new events or images of new displays.

Task 5 - wiki

Use of the class wiki
the site used to make the class blog isnt all that different from previous wiki services i have previously used but seemed to be a little less simple from my limited interaction with it

Use of wiki's in libraries
a wiki would probably be an invaluable asset internally at a library by having a useful place where certain processes developed in house can be explained and expanded upon, it also can serve as an effective repository of useful "how to's for certain systems and machines found within the library for staff to check if clarification is needed on a given task without the need to interrupt someone.

Task 10 - final

Task 8 - Photo Sharing

My experience
my experience using Unsplash was quite easy as expected of it's easy user interface and massive collection of copyright free images

In a library
having a platform to easily store and display large volumes of images is indispensable for libraries. massive collections of locally sourced images can easily be used to show the area's impact on the world stage such as photos taken from holidays around the world or old war photo's of veterans in the area's families history.

Part 7 - Video Sharing sites

Second verse same as the first. here is the screenshots followed by the embedded video

Tags
the tags I would have used for this video are: #SocialMediaHistory, #SocialMediaTimeline and #SocialMedia
My experience
the process of finding the video felt pretty standard and was quite easy to find seeing as it was uploaded by CNBC
In a library
Like facebook video sharing platforms have excellent uses with updating users with information regarding events and new stock but also with tutorials and how to's

Task 6 - Facebook

For this task I was required to make a new post and search for "an interesting social media page" and like it. I selected "social media today" then took the needed screenshot which is belowe

In a library
I believe that facebook is an excellent advertising tool for libraries. by posting new stock or updates about events it would be very easy to be able to keep users informed about the happenings of the library
